A Women United Event
March 7th was a wonderful evening of women coming together to support our youngest citizens. Thank you to the JFK Hyannis Museum and our guest speaker, Lauren Wolk, author of the best-selling Wolf Hollow, which received a 2017 Newbery Honor medal and numerous other awards.
The event was hosted by Women United, an affinity group of the Cape and Islands United Way. The evening supported Strong from the Start, a platform of programs designed to ensure local children ages 0-3 are given the social, emotional and language skills they need to thrive. Specifically, guests brought books to donate to Reach Out and Read, a nonprofit that gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together.
