Cape & Islands United Way Welcomes Michael Sayers to Board of Directors

Hyannis, Mass. — Cape & Islands United Way is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Sayers, Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Rockland Trust Investment Management Group, to its Board of Directors.

Sayers has been an active volunteer with Cape & Islands United Way for several years, serving on the organization's Finance Committee alongside Treasurer Larry Bigelow. During his tenure on the committee, he has been recognized for his thoughtful leadership, financial expertise, and commitment to strengthening the organization's mission. He has also been an engaged supporter of Cape & Islands United Way's signature fundraising events, including Best Night.

Sayers joins the Board following the departure of longtime board member David Smith, who is stepping down due to increasing professional commitments.

As Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Rockland Trust Investment Management Group, Sayers works closely with clients to develop customized investment strategies aligned with their financial objectives, long-term goals, and risk tolerance.

Sayers has worked in the financial services industry since 2009. Prior to joining Rockland Trust Investment Management Group in 2022, he served as a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones. Earlier in his career, he worked at Aberdeen Asset Management as both an Investment Analyst and Investment Manager after beginning his career as an intern at Plimoth Investment Advisors.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University, majoring in Finance with a co-major in International Business and a minor in Real Estate. He is both a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) professional. Sayers is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society Boston.

Sayers resides in Plymouth with his wife and two children.
