Cape and Islands United Way Announces 2nd Round of Fuel Assistance

HYANNIS – The Cape and Islands United Way received a $250,000 grant from National Grid to help offset winter heating costs. The utilities company charitable foundation provided the United Way with the grant for its local member nonprofits that help residents through fuel assistance programs.

The United Way announced the first round of award recipients, $122,500 in December. The other half of the money, $122,500, will be granted this February.

Grants from $10,000 to $30,000 will be awarded to Cape, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard nonprofits working to keep residents warm this winter. All regional nonprofits are encouraged to apply (or apply again) here.
