At Power of the Purse, the purse is a metaphor for strength – strength in coming together to lift each other up; strength in making a statement about the community you want; strength to recognize we all have the power to make a difference.
Women United of the Cape & Islands invites you to gather with your friends at the beautiful Hyannisport Club on Wednesday, September 22. You'll learn about the women and organizations in our community that give back every day – and how your generosity can benefit women in need.
In addition to a silent auction with some very special purses and packages, highlights of the evening include honoring Chair & CEO of Cape Cod 5, Dorothy Savarese, with the 2021 Woman of Impact Award, and recognizing Founder of Cleangreen and Nové Yoga, Jitka Borowick, with our new Community Spirit Award.
Event proceeds will be used to:
Promote early literacy by providing new books to parents through pediatricians who encourage them to read aloud to their children
Contribute to the health and well being of disadvantaged expectant mothers through our annual community baby shower
Provide financial assistance to female students at Cape Cod Community College, through scholarships that promote career development and economic self-sufficiency for women
