80 New and Expectant Parents Celebrated at 5th Annual Community Baby Shower

It was a beautiful day for so many reasons. A gorgeous Sunday afternoon filled with helping hands, smiles, and best of all, expecting families who were showered with love and generosity that eased some of the financial and emotional burdens of new parenthood.

In the spirit of a traditional baby shower, the Community Baby Shower on May 7th was a celebration. The event also gives low income families a stronger start to parenthood by providing access to maternal and early childhood resources and many essentials to take home, such as diapers, wipes, clothing and car seats installed by officers from the Barnstable Police helping out at the event.

The annual Baby Shower brings out the humanity in our community, and this year was no exception. In addition to many volunteers, corporate sponsors include Granite City Electric, Cape Cod 5 and the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. Alberto's, Tosca of Hingham, and Lambert's Fruit Centerville provided donations of food for the shower, and countless organizations donated baby essentials and supplies to give to the families, including A Baby Center (who provided 80 cases of diapers), Macy's, Cape Kid Meals, WIC, Health Imperatives, Cardi's Furniture, Littlenecks, Read Happy, Cape Cod Children's Place, Cape Cod Healthcare, Community Health Center of Cape Cod, Family Resource Center of Cape Cod, Sandwich Public Schools, Outer Cape Health Services, Moms Do Care, Maternal Depression Task Force, Cape Cod Baby, Cape Cod Toy Library, Motherly Love Wellness, Jessica Sechoka and Hyannis Health Ministry.

The Premier Companies were especially gracious as the hosts of the in person event, at their Audi Cape Cod dealership.

Additionally, this event would not be possible without the help of community partners who help connect the United Way with families: A Baby Center, Health Imperatives, and Sandwich Partnership for Families.

It's so nice to read about the police officers helping install car seats. That's a practical detail that probably made a huge difference for those families, providing real safety and astrocartography calculator peace of mind. It turns a simple donation into a genuinely helpful service on the spot.

I love that the police officers were there installing car seats, that’s such a practical way to help. It’s one of those things that can feel free graffiti font generator overwhelming for nanobanan new parents, so having someone show you the ropes right there is a game changer. Stuff like that makes the support feel way more real.
