Welcome to our new monthly newsletter!
2019 is already proving to be a busy, inspiring and pivotal year, and there is so much news to share. If you can believe it, this year marks the 60th anniversary of the Cape and Islands United Way! And as we look back to where we've been, our message and our mission have never been more relevant.
We hope you will join us as we dive in even deeper to help connect our communities and find more strength in the power of living united. Here's to a wonderful year.

Cape and Islands United Way
Family Dinner Project
Food, fun and conversation about things that matter.
Over the past 15 years, research has shown what parents have known for a long time: Sharing a fun family meal is good for the spirit, brain and health of all family members
The Cape and Islands United Way is proud to partner with The Family Dinner Project - to promote the joy of family dinners in our community!
p.s. We will be rolling this out at the Cape Cod Moms Parent Resource Fair on January 26th.
60 Years of Living United
Social campaign to watch
60 years is a long time, but sometimes, it feels like the blink of an eye.
In exploring the archives, our Americorps VISTAEmily Simons discovered some of our vintage "United Fund" materials - and truly, they still communicate our mission quite poignantly.
Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages over the next weeks on Throwback Thursdays (#TBT). You'll take a step back in time, and hopefully be inspired by the grass roots of our organization.
National Mentoring Month
January 2019
Mentoring, at its core, guarantees young people that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter.
And mentors matter! We especially want to recognize our 2018-2019 nonprofit partners for the positive impact they make through mentoring in our community:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands - One-to-One Mentoring program
Fairwinds - Mentoring Youth Nantucket
Falmouth Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) - Supporting the Social and Emotional Development of Youth Through Positive Mentoring Relationships
YMCA of Cape Cod - Teen Achievers Program
Shea's Youth Basketball Association - Winter Basketball Program
